Appalachian Center For Wilderness Medicine
The Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine is a regional non-profit organization dedicated to promoting quality medical care in limited resource ("wilderness") environments. The Center serves as a regional resource to southern Appalachian states - North and South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, and Alabama.
AWLS Course
Our Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) course is a 3 day course designed for healthcare professionals, to convert their medical training into a form usable in limited resource ("wilderness") environments.
WFA Course
Our Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Course is a 16-hour course designed for outdoor enthusiasts. Basic first aid skills are covered to keep you and your friends and family safe in outdoor environments.
